“I am a Super Spy!”
Have you ever wanted to say that to somebody? You know, without having to kill them afterwards for National Security reasons….
I am ferociously working on new Hannah Carmichael Chronicles Instalments because THINGS ARE GETTING CRAZY!
If you tuned in to the last one, you will know that Hannah and Zeke’s future is unknown right now. Cliff hangers can be frustrating, BUT they will be back in Two Weeks. If that isn’t soon enough – don’t worry, because I flashback instalment will be uploaded at the end of this week to tide you over in the meantime.
Hannah Carmichael may not label herself a ‘Super Spy’ but others certainly do.
What would you do if you were a spy? Traveling the world, fighting for good (or not – depending on who you work for – is Dr Evil still around?? 😛 ), being a general badass… normal stuff.
If I could have said “I am a Super Spy” and it actually be true, part of me thinks that would be the coolest thing ever; but most of me (the sane part of me) knows that it’s better for me to be behind the keyboard.
Last but not least, I have a present for everyone still reading… A very special message from Hannah Carmichael herself!!!
…. Well then, thanks Hannah – that’s not concerning at all.

Business card, business card; where for art thou business card.
A while ago I sent away for my first ever business cards – and they were AMAZING.
I felt super professional and it was a great step forward in my writing career. Now if I pass you on the street, I can hand you a card and you know that I’m legit!
So, because I was super psyched to get the cards, I made sure to capture the moment I opened them on video (along with my very supportive Dog – Rosie).
It’s been a while since I officially opened the cards, but I finally had a chance to sit down and clip the video together and post it to the CGSP Facebook page!

No, I haven’t changed my name.
No, I haven’t stolen someone else’s ‘Outdoor Observations’ writing piece.
What I have done, is absolutely steal the title from the 60s TV show ‘Gidget’ with Sally Fields (Francis Lawrence was Gidget’s real name).
I don’t know if ‘Outdoor Observations’ is still something kids learn in school (as I haven’t been there for quite some time myself), but I found myself at the Beach the other day and couldn’t resist – as the writer I am – to pen down the things that I saw while I was there. My overarching opinion (As you can see from my opening line) is that ‘Adventure is out there’ (Again stolen, this time from the Disney movie ‘Up’).
So, without further ado…

“Adventure Is Out There”
That quote from ‘Up’ is more possible than people (myself included) give it credit for.
I’m sitting on the sand at the pier, watching. It’s Saturday, so people are here, enjoying the Spring sunshine.
A guy rolled past me on what looked like a skateboard cross tire (Which was partially electronic*).
A dog with the tallest legs I have ever seen walked with it’s owner and best fried, the shortest dog i’ve ever seen.
Two girls have been splashing in the shallow water for the last 10 minutes, fully clothed and wearing jean jackets, just enjoying life. A man (who I assume was their Dad) was standing on the pier, and called out to them, camera at the ready. When they saw him, they jumped into ‘photo mode’ and spread out their arms, smiling and jumping up and down.
A dog at looks like Murray (From Mad About You**) is playing catch, with a little boy who happened to pick up his tennis ball. The dog leaps into the air, attempting to catch it in his mouth.
A mother sits with her 1 year old child and puppy, watching the waves like me.
And, even as I write, another little boy has been climbing up and down the rocks behind me.
The puppy and little boy from before are rolling on the sand, playing. The puppy digs in the sand for treasure, and barks at the waves.
A bride walks underneath the pier, pink flowers on her dress. Real or posed photoshoot, it doesn’t matter.
A family of three opens a pack of fish and chips to enjoy as they listen to the crashing waves and chat about their week.
Adventure is out here for all of them.
Even I, as the spectator, have engaged in adventure, just by being here.
I have my villain too, even now – I don’t trust the seagulls overhead not to let loose their lunch on me, or swarm in an attempt to find food. The sun is also an enemy, as I forgot the sunscreen, but hopefully it won’t look too bad in the end.
A piggy back along the pier, father and daughter. Creating a sand castle and leaving it for others to find. Brushing the sand from your grandsons shoes and pants.
Adventure, or the idea of Adventure, is what you see when you put on your perception lens every day.
Does it have to be climbing the highest mountain, or zip lining through a forest?
Or can it be exploring the sand for shells, or digging for buried coins?”

Hello CGSP Readers!
I don’t know if it’s the Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Marshmallows that I drank at 11.45pm, but I can’t sleep and it is now 1.11am! (By the way, the photo below is a REAL LOOK at the sugar and calories that I exposed myself to….) but anyway….
As I lay there, knowing sleep was Not an option for me at the moment, I decided to instead, get up and do another Late Night Creative Philosophy session with you all!
So, If you remember the last post, I was talking about the frailty of ideas, and whether or not it is possible to have an actual, original idea these days (everything is pretty much recycled from ideas in the past anyway, right? – Check out the post ‘Creative Philosophy at 11.30pm’ to see what that was all about).
Tonight, I want to take a more positive look at creativity and ask this question……
What is Your Inspiration?
That question sort of links into the last Philosophy question (in a vague and somewhat unassuming way)……
Personally, I think that Inspiration can come from almost anywhere… Your parents, your friends, the people you look up to, that teacher from High School who believed in your dreams, that Lady Bug you saw yesterday afternoon while you were sitting in the grass and staring at the clouds…
Aaaannnnyyyway… The reason I decided upon this particular question (apart from the not being able to sleep conundrum), was because I found a strange source for inspiration of my own a few days ago.
Have you ever been driving along and all of a sudden, you pass something on the road that grabs your attention, and you can’t help but stare at it, slam on your breaks, and hold your breath as you thank God that you didn’t crash into the very expensive BMW or Lamborghini in front of you… No? Just me? Ok then, moving on!
I was (as you may have already guessed) driving a few days ago, and I saw a random playground on the side of the road. I know, it seems silly right? Wrong!
As soon as I saw this playground (apart from the swerving and screeching on the breaks – I am a good driver, I swear!), I instantly had an amazing; so cool; never before seen idea, for a new song and video to boot!
I quickly jotted down the idea (because looking at phones while driving is Dangerous!) and tried to guess where my car was located at that exact moment to come back again (I failed by the way).
Ok, so the idea may not be as exciting as a Lady Bug, on the grass, in the sunshine, but I was excited. Here comes the philosophical part of my question though… As quickly as the idea had entered my brain, the enthusiasm for the song, the video, the process of getting the camera, the crew, the lyrics, the recording, blah, blah, blah…. It all sort of, disappeared by the time I got home.
I still think it would be a cool song (dont get me wrong) but the initial inspiration and excitement for the project had kind of depleted. So, I wanted to put out a thought into the vast and every expanding thing we call the internet – How long does inspiration last?
If you find something that inspires you, a person, pick up truck, or a playground (whatever floats your boat), does it stay with you? Is it possible that I am the only person who is so easily distracted by…. oooohhhh something shiny…. hang on……..
Sorry, i’m back. I just watched the Shiny video from Moana, but anyway…
Do you think it’s possible that the inspiration we get every day, to create something amazing, to do dishes out of the blue, to speak to a friend and comfort someone in a time of need, or to give money to that person on the street (even though you’re pretty sure they aren’t going to spend it on food or clothing), is that inspiration fleeting?
I would prefer to think that True Inspiration (whatever that is for you), remains with you, and continues to provide you with the drive and desire to create, or make the world a better place.
What are your inspirations? Do they stay with you?

Asleep on Duty! Does that mean a Court Martial?
Maybe if they were in the military.
Stephanie has fallen asleep while guarding the door outside Baxter’s room. Once an agent working to take down CGT, Baxter turned to the dark side and is now working For CGT.
While being questioned and guarded, he somehow got hold of a way to contact CGT and let them know what Hannah and the team has discovered about Cataclysm.
How will Hannah deal with this situation? Will she be able to stop Baxter from telling them anything else, like where The Palace (their headquarters) is located?

Hannah kicked Stephanie and she snorted awake.
Raising her finger onto her lips, Hannah watched as Stephanie frowned then looked at the light around the door frame. Behind the door, Baxter was updating someone at CGT and Hannah’s weapon was already drawn.
Hannah and her Team will be back SOON, but will they be able to stop Baxter’s communication with CGT, and Cataclysm?
