Estimated Reading Time:
I am so excited that my second romantic suspense book, Empty Homes & Enemy Zones is already LIVE! You can jump into the enemies to lovers story in the small town of Hartwell Grove now on Amazon as an eBook, but do you know the story behind it?
I wrote the first book in the Hartwell Grove series as a writing exercise. Could I write an entire book in 7 days? I was completely ready to fail, and in fact, I sort of did. I ended up writing and publishing that book in 14 days, not 7… but that was still SUPER impressive. When I was writing the story, though, there were characters and stories in Hartwell Grove that were calling my name and I couldn’t let them go. Amber and Lucas were one such story, so here we are. I gave myself more breathing room than the first, 2 months instead of weeks, so is the book any better? You’ll have to read it for yourself and tell me!
Empty Homes & Enemy Zones

Amber just knows that someone is breaking into her display homes. She just can’t prove it. When she calls the police to investigate, the absolute last person she expected to be assigned was Lucas Hale. Ten years. It’s been ten years since they’ve even spoken each other’s names aloud, and now, they will have to work together to find the intruder… if they don’t kill each other first.
Lucas is desperate to prove himself as a detective. He didn’t ask for Amber’s case, and he certainly didn’t want it. Now, he’s stuck with a meddling citizen who thinks she’s a detective, and he’s not interested. Not in her involvement, and certainly not in the sparks they’re both ignoring. He just wants to close the case, and get Amber out of his life.
As the break-ins escalate, Amber and Lucas have to decide if they put the past aside and work together. Testing the limits of their patience, and attraction, will their bickering cause more trouble, or can they actually solve the case?
Hard Hats & Mixed Signals

Bex isn’t looking for love; she’s just trying to buy a truck. But one misdialed number lands her on the phone with Nick, the owner of a small‑town construction company who drags her into his plan for payback. What starts as a funny mix‑up turns into the realization that Nick is Bex’s new boss… but she doesn’t date co-workers.
When Bex moves to his quiet coastal town with her retired parents to start over, she finds more than fresh air and friendly faces. When she stars working in Nick’s office, she agrees to use her background in banking to try and solve the mysterious issues the company is having. Nick is trying to ignore their chemistry, now that Bex is working for him, but seems determined to keep her close, even when she insists she doesn’t need protecting.
Sweet, cozy, and full of heart, this closed‑door romance blends small‑town charm with a touch of intrigue. And it all begins with one wrong number.
So excited for the next couple in the series, but for now please enjoy one of my fav tropes – enemies to lovers, with Amber and Lucas!
See You in the Adventures!
