Estimated Reading Time: 3min

Okay, I was a little hesitant to pick up this one, but when you combine a sunshine office assistant with a grump villain who terrorises the people around him… what could go wrong, right?

Assistant To The Villain

With ailing family to support, Evie Sage’s employment status isn’t just important, it’s vital. So when a mishap with Rennedawn’s most infamous Villain results in a job offer—naturally, she says yes. No job is perfect, of course, but even less so when you develop a teeny crush on your terrifying, temperamental, and undeniably hot boss. Don’t find evil so attractive, Evie.

But just when she’s getting used to severed heads suspended from the ceiling and the odd squish of an errant eyeball beneath her heel, Evie suspects this dungeon has a huge rat . . . and not just the literal kind. Because something rotten is growing in the kingdom of Rennedawn, and someone wants to take the Villain—and his entire nefarious empire—out.

Now Evie must not only resist drooling over her boss but also figure out exactly who is sabotaging his work . . . and ensure he makes them pay.

My Review

If it weren’t for the severed heads or the fact that we are literally rooting for an evil bad guy… I would have given 5 stars.

This was hilarious, intriguing and just plain fun.
Mixing modern concepts with older time periods and throwing in some magic, every turn was something exciting. From unusually unexpected characters, to mini plots that had me giggling or rolling my eyes I was hooked.

I never would have thought that rooting for the bad guy would be the best story. I can’t believe I almost never read this book. I’m so glad I did.

Would I Recommend This Book?

Yes, this was a very fun read, and I would recommend the hilarity.
